Today I am happy. A rare occasion in journals of any sort I know, and mine's no different.

I know this beautiful person. Beautiful as in intelligent, attractive, thoughtful, amazing. I'm bedazzled by them, by the way they make me feel, the way I found myself diving head first into the deep end, all defenses rendered usless by them, even if I still fear.

I'm happy because I know them, because they are so close to me, as I believe I am to them, and I'm also happy because of this, for a very selfish reason; I like the idea that I've done something right. I like the idea that somewhere along the line I've done something good enough, something well enough to, if for only a moment, desever something so spectacular.

So today I'm not venting or asking for sympathy, I'm just expressing my happiness, whatever the future may hold.
